My Reading List: January 2015

Firts off, HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! Wow I haven't talked to you guys since last year! It's been so long, but I hope 2015 has treated you well so far! I certainly had a great time with my friends last night watching the ball drop and of course, One Direction sing like 50 times, but hey, I'm not complaining. What did you do to celebrate the coming of 2015?

I'm a hardcore, bonafied bookworm. I LOVE reading, so much that my mother used to have to (and sometimes still does) tell me to put the put the book down. So to kick off the new year of reading, I'm telling you my 2015 reading challenges and TBR (to be read) list for January.

My first Challenge isn't actually a reading challenge, as you can probably tell by the name. It's really a challenge to see how many reading challenges you can complete in the year.

I'll most likely join some other challenges throughout the year, but for now I'll just play it safe and go for Easy as Pie, which is 1 - 5 challenges.

Popsugar recently put up their own 2015 reading challenge, which although seems daunting, I've taken it upon myself to complete it.

The first book to check off is one that is 500+ pages, and in this case thar's The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan.

I know I'm a little late since this came out in October, but can you blame me? It's the last book and I'm not looking forward to the series ending (or the waterfall of tears I see in my near future). Lets just say I'm reading this fashionably late.

If you're like me, then you have a problem of saying or buying books you say you're going to read, but then never read it because you get distracted by another book or something else. Fortunately though, this challenge hoseted by Bookish has provided us with a chance to finally pick up those books that have collected dust on our bookshelves!

If I'm being totally honest, my TBR pile is probably way more than 100, but I'd rather not face the mountain of books left for me to read, so lets set my goal at 21 - 30 books. Yep, that seems about right.

The lucky book that shall be the first for me to read for this challenge is City of Lost Angels by Cassandra Clare.

I have been trying to finish this novel for the longest time! Not because it's bad, it's actually fantastic, but I've been in a bit of reading slump for the past few months and I'm just starting to get back out into the book world. So that may have posed a bit of a problem.

This challenge is pretty simple For every month there's a theme and you have to read a book that fits into the theme.

The theme for January is a Book to Movie or Audio adaptation and I'm going with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

I might even include this with the TBR challenge, since this has been on my self for quite sometime. I think I made it to page 30 before I stopped, and I know, I know. Some of you are probably already yelling at me, saying how Harry Potter is such a fantastic series and how awful it is of me to not have read it yet or even gotten past the second book! Well, I'm sorry, but it starts of really slow, okay and I don't do good with slow. Though I am trying my hardest to get through it!

Finally, we have made it to my last challenge that I will be participating in so far! For this challenge I'm am going to have to read 26 books, all with the author's last names starting with a letter of the alphabet. I'm not completely sure I said that right, but we're just gonna roll with it.

For more info, click here. The hostess probably does a better explaination of this than I do anyways.

Although, I will add on like two more books just because my goal is to read at least five books per month this year, I'm just gonna throw in the other books on my list so far too. I mean, it's only logical.

P.S. I do talk about the books I've read after I read them, but not all of them, only the ones that I thoroughly enjoyed or believe deserve to be discussed. Plus, just as a disclaimer, I am not in anyway a book critic or proffesional book reviewer.. is that what you even call it? Whatever, I'm sure you get what I'm trying to say, but honestly, I'm just someone who loves reading and talking about books, and then sharing what I think about the books I read. So please, don't take anything I say about them too seriously, it's just my opinion.
